Join the HJF Team!
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners.
HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to support the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program (IDCRP) at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland. The Postdoctoral Fellow initiates and carries out research projects in collaboration with a research team along a focused line of inquiry and has a manuscript in development. This individual will support clinical research studies on the epidemiology, treatment and/or prevention of acute respiratory infections (ARIs), including SARS‑CoV‑2, influenza, adenovirus, RSV, and other medically important respiratory pathogens, including emerging or re‑emerging epidemics.
This involves providing epidemiologic guidance and performing advanced statistical analysis on surveys, cross‑sectional studies, case‑control studies, cohort studies (e.g., observational, longitudinal cohort) and/or clinical trials, as well as laboratory studies related to ARI among US military personnel and their beneficiaries.
The candidate will be hired as a post‑doctoral fellow for a 2‑year period and may be eligible for an academic appointment (Instructor) in the USU Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics. The position will be hired through the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF), which provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to IDCRP.
