Job DescriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher in the dynamic Climate Processes Group within the sub-Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics of the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford. The post is available immediately for a fixed-term period of 18 months.
This position, aligned with the EU Horizon Europe project Clouds and climate transitioning to post-fossil aerosol regime (Clean Cloud) with partners across Europe, will tackle our understanding convective systems under climate and air pollution changes combining global km-scale models with observations.
The successful candidate will work closely with our international collaborators and be expected to develop innovative research. The results should be presented at national and international meetings as well as published in leading subject and high-impact publications.
Responsibilities- Work on convective systems under climate and air pollution changes using global km-scale models and observations.
- Collaborate with international partners on the EU Horizon Europe Clean Cloud project.
- Develop innovative research related to convection and aerosols via satellite-based remote sensing.
- Present results at national and international meetings and publish in high-impact journals.
- Applicants should possess, or be close to completion of, a PhD/Doctorate in atmospheric physics or related fields.
- Ability and drive to work collaboratively, yet independently, as part of a team.
- Excellent understanding of atmospheric physics, remote sensing, and the ability to perform novel research of international standing.
