Research Assistant/Associate, Research Analyst
The Inclusive History Project-Dearborn Program is looking for driven individuals to contribute to our research into the inclusive histories of the university community. Whether you're just starting your research journey or you're an experienced professional, we have an exciting opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact.
Position Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic candidates to join the IHP-Dearborn team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of Research and the Program Coordinator for Digital Humanities on a variety of innovative IHP research initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong passion for humanities research, oral history, and the exploration of inclusive history.
Responsibilities*At the Research Assistant I level, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing routine research tasks, including library and archival research; participate in group observation activities; collect, analyze, code, and tabulate data; and more.
For the Research Assistant I level, successfully applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Graduated or enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in any field
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team
For the Research Assistant I level, the following criteria is desirable:
- Demonstrated experience on the UM-Dearborn campus working with public audiences and projects in which community engagement is a key aspect of the work
- Past experience with humanities research and in-person archival research
- Past participation in research projects
- Knowledge of or experience with the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS), Omeka S, and/or Word Press is a plus
