Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist (LIHTC & HUD)

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements. This opportunity specializes in HUD, as well as LIHTC.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with travel to property locations across TX as needed.

• Review Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.
• Review files based on information presented by the applicants and ensure review of files within 24 hours of receiving.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
• Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement modifications as indicated.
• Attend DCA trainings annually and complete HCCP training within the first two years of employment, including a passing score on the exam to receive the HCCP designation.
• Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.
• Travel (estimated 50% of work time annually) for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business‑related activities.

Education & Experience

• Knowledge of the LIHTC & HUD programs.
• Strong organizational skills and a detail‑oriented approach.
• Strong computer literacy, including Real Page Onesite Tax Credit software.
• Housing Credit Certified Professional certification a plus; if not certified, a requirement to attend HCCP training within the first 2 years of employment and achieve a passing score.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
