Electric Operations ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
Provides quality assurance (QA) for Electric Operations. Performs QA assessments for adherence to compliance requirements, company standards, laws and identified business process requirements to ensure processes, systems, structures and/or components meet required specifications. Develops clear and concise written reports to describe non-conformances or process gaps which are used to communicate recommendations for the eliminations of waste or process improvements cross-functionally with various stakeholders.
May be assigned to support a specific department or area of the business. Scope may be limited to one regulatory agency or may include multiple agencies, laws, and regulations applicable to a specific department or area of the business. Supports revisions to the compliance and/or risk programs and tools as needed based on changes to applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SME), Requirement/Risk Owners, and business SMEs to develop controls, and metrics to hold the assigned owners accountable for compliance and/or risk management performance.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of thejob posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, and geographic location.
The decision will be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.
This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area – $128,000 - $190,300
And/or
California - $122,000 - $180,400
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and presents quality non-conformance data and trending to executive leadership.
- Works with Senior Management to promote development of the quality management system and ensure integration with the integrated safety management system.
- Leads and drives complex, cross functional strategic improvement initiatives and the standardization of common QA/QC processes.
- Coaches and mentors less experienced employees on quality and lean tools.
- Performs benchmarking and reviews of non-employee work quality to establish baseline standards.
- Ensures quality team is versed in quality assurance and lean principles.
- Participates and represents PG&E’s quality programs in industry activities and events.
- Provides training and/or feedback to Inspectors related to the selection of the appropriate FDA for maintenance issues identified and required information for LC or EC notifications.
Minimum:
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- Relevant utility industry experience, 10 years
- CA Class C License, or equivalent
- 30% Field - 70% Office
- Ability to travel up to 50% of working time with occasional overnight stays
Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or related field or equivalent experience
- 3 years of quality auditing/quality inspection experience
- 7 years equivalent experience in electric infrastructure construction and quality
- 10 years Electric Journeyman utility experience
- ASQ Quality Improvement Associate Certification
- ASQ Quality Inspector/Auditor Certification
- Six Sigma or other Lean/Quality related training
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for inspection compliance – GO 165/95/128, ETPM
