We’re looking for a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist who combines strong product knowledge with a customer‑first mindset. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that product information, labeling, and supplier data meet all food safety, quality, and regulatory expectations.
The position is salaried with benefits and follows a hybrid schedule: in‑office presence is required from Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as the main point of contact for gathering accurate product and ingredient details from suppliers
- Work closely with various teams to support timely product launches
- Research appropriate ingredient naming and ensure proper labeling practices
- Confirm product uniformity when sourced from multiple suppliers
- Review and interpret allergen, gluten‑free, and GMO documentation
- Ensure packaging and labels align with regulatory requirements
- Audit ingredient statements, net weight declarations, and nutritional panels for regulatory accuracy
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or food technology
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 9002, GMP, and rules enforced by the FDA, USDA
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Solid understanding of food safety principles, nutrition topics, and basic food science
- Strong aptitude for science, data, and technology with reliable math skills
- Ability to gather information effectively from written, verbal, and observational sources
- Skilled in organizing, validating, and categorizing data accurately
