Job Summary

The Senior Quality Analyst is a highly skilled software development professional who operates with minimal daily direction. They are proficient in advanced testing methodologies, often take on a team leadership role on projects, and serve as a knowledgeable resource. The Senior Quality Analyst is responsible for analyzing the quality of the development process and driving a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

This role actively participates in product development meetings and collaborates with stakeholders to achieve product quality objectives by strategically selecting test methods. It also includes training and mentoring Associate and Mid‑level Quality Analysts, developing training materials, and leading workshops.

This is a hybrid role with on‑site and remote work, based in Irvine, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize advanced testing methods, including manual and automated Grey‑box approaches, to deliver test design, execution, maintenance, and closure results.
  • Document and maintain detailed records of test cases, results, and issues discovered during testing.
  • Analyze and monitor software development processes throughout the SDLC to ensure quality, meet requirements, and manage risks.
  • Plan, develop, review, and distribute test execution requests to global QA partners.
  • Design and implement custom test scenarios using established development toolsets.
  • Develop test plans with strategic methodologies, including data validation, regression testing, integration testing, and performance/load testing.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, to understand and formulate effective testing requirements.
  • Adhere to department SLAs within project management (e.g., JIRA) and test tools (e.g., Test Rail). Ensure deployment stability across all environments. Perform technical testing, including performance, game engine testing, in‑game rendering (IGR) testing, special assignments, and new technology testing.
  • Develop innovative exploratory testing methods that challenge the intended design of products.
  • Support knowledge and skill development in others through training, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
  • Advocate for the user experience through qualitative reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with game engines, JIRA, content and asset editors, and shared technologies.
  • Experience writing, executing, and monitoring test suites using a variety of technologies.
  • Experience working with a global test team structure preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically QA processes in agile and waterfall environments.
  • Expert in one or more software testing methodologies.
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server.
  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and act on data sets and complex workflows.
Additional Preferences
  • White‑box testing experience.
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with XML / HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, SQL.
  • High level of gaming knowledge and/or skill.
  • Passion for Blizzard’s line of products and services.
Benefits & Compensation

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $19.23 - $35.58 hourly. Compensation may also include incentive opportunities and is negotiable based on experience.
