Precision Agronomist – Southern Saskatchewan

Kessler Ag Ventures is an agronomy consulting firm in Southern Saskatchewan that uses modern agronomic practices in today’s industry. Infused with technology and innovation, driven by purpose and passion for farming, our mandate is to provide our clients with optimal growing solutions enabling profitability and environmental sustainability.
As our organization grows, we are looking for a Full-Time Agronomist to join our team. This individual will provide support and service offerings to growers using the latest technologies and tools.
Accountabilities- Maintain and build trustworthy relationships with growers
- Regular in season field scouting duties – plant stand establishments, herbicide timing/efficacy, pest management and pre/post harvest recommendations
- Strong focus on variable rate technology including implementing action plans for variable rate application of products and solutions
Use of satellite imagery, GPS, drones and application equipment - Accountable all aspects of data management for each client
- Responsible for mapping fields, ground truthing soil zones and performing soil sampling duties in field (SWAT MAP system)
- Zone mapping analysis including seeding rates, fertility recommendations and pest and disease identification
- Providing agronomic services in field using scouting apps and software
- Utilize and understand a variety of agriculture equipment from all major manufactures
- Willingness to work outdoors, along with overtime as necessary during peak season
- Ability to manage working in a home office when not performing in-field responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and relationship building capabilities
- Knowledge of the agriculture industry and best practices
- Analytical, detailed and systematic work actions
- Experience with data management
- Honest and transparent interpersonal values
- Comfortable building impactful relationships with clients, our team and industry partners
- Travel within the province during peak times of growing season
- Minimum 2 year Certificate / Diploma from an accredited Agriculture program (Ideally a four year BSAg)
- Minimum 2 years experience in Agronomy is a bonus
- SIA Membership an asset
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
