The

D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center. High-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients will also be housed, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000 square foot hospital which also features twenty surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities.

The Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is a 24 bed ICU that cares for patients from neurosurgery, neurology, stroke, otolaryngology, and oral maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) services. Medical problems most often treated on this unit include: thrombectomies, post-operative craniotomies for brain tumors, cerebral aneurysms, intracranial hemorrhage/hematomas, severe head and/or spinal cord injuries, increased intracranial pressure, caring for and assessing free flaps, doppler usage, tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), Myasthenia Gravis, Status Epilepticus, and Guillain-Barre syndrome.

• Current Michigan RN license
• Minimum of one (1) year of critical care RN experience within the last five (5) years
• Valid ACLS certification solely through the American Heart Association (AHA)

• BSN preferred
• Otolaryngology, Oral Maxillofacial, Neurology, or Stroke nursing care experience.
• CCRN certification

• Strong patient advocate mentality and teamwork approach

Hours:

36 hours per week; every other weekend rotation.
Shift: Nights,12-hour shifts

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
