Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse for the LDRP. This night shift position includes required call. Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery and will cross‑train into postpartum. A sign‑on bonus up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates.

HoursThree 12‑hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday. The required call is 16‑24 hours per 6‑week schedule.
LDRPSentara Martha Jefferson’s Women’s Health includes L&D and a 24‑bed post‑partum mother/baby unit. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 : 1 ratio, while intermediate‑care babies have a 1 : 3 nursing ratio. The LDRP unit also offers post‑operative care for complex GYN and breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100‑member team cross‑trained to offer best‑in‑class healthcare to Charlottesville, VA, and surrounding areas.
The schedule is primarily 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. Awarded as a US News Top Maternity Care Hospital, the LDRP at Sentara Martha Jefferson offers state‑of‑the‑art care while maintaining a personalized experience for all patients.

- Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Women’s Care – Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire.
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Registered nursing license required
- EFM – Electronic Fetal Monitoring preferred
- Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred
- At least 2 years of acute‑care registered nurse experience in Women’s Health – required.
- Labor and Delivery specific experience preferred
- Strong understanding of patient safety protocols
- Manages complex cases in fast‑paced environments
- Effective communication with patients and providers
- Willingness to work night shift
