Salary: $70,000 annually
Responsibilities- Respond to patient alerts and assess patient symptoms; follow clinical protocols and document findings, plan, and outcomes in the EMR and data collection tools.
- Obtain and record research data with physicians and other research team professionals; enroll study subjects, interview subjects, review medical records, and assist in planning nursing aspects of the medical team research; complete data collection tools.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and their families, professional or community groups, and volunteers; maintain contact with public agencies involved with the research.
- Determine eligibility of potential study participants; obtain informed consent; enroll patients in research protocols; coordinate all aspects of the patient’s care.
- Explain research protocols to participants; respond to inquiries; schedule participation; ensure protocol compliance; inform referring physicians of protocol requirements.
- Collect, record, organize, transcribe, and verify accuracy of research data; coordinate data collection; create data collection tools using applications such as REDCap.
- Collaborate with administrative staff, research peers, and the Principal Investigator on Institutional Review Board submissions; communicate with sponsors, auditors, monitoring agencies, and IRBs promptly and accurately.
- Perform other duties as necessary to conduct the study and related division functions.
This position covers Alachua, Bradford, Gilchrist, and Union Counties. Reliable transportation and willingness to drive up to 1 hour between clinical locations on weekdays are required. Some work will be in-person; some may be via telehealth/remote.
Qualifications- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program with four years of professional nursing experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statutes Chapter 464.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in obstetrics and/or research, specifically patient recruitment, conducting research studies, follow-up visits, and maintenance of study records.

Additional InformationThe role involves supporting a research project (e.g., MOMitor) in collaboration with division research staff. Responsibilities include communicating with patients and clinicians, scheduling outpatient appointments, obtaining and recording research data, recruiting/enrolling subjects, coordinating histories and physicals for trial subjects, and maintaining regulatory and sponsor-required documentation. This position will cover the specified counties and require travel between sites and occasional telehealth/remote work.
