Position Overview:

The Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner will serve as a primary care provider for adult patients in an urgent care setting. This role requires a strong clinical foundation in internal medicine with demonstrated ability to manage a wide range of acute, urgent, and chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent diagnostic and treatment skills, exceptional communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to patient education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive histories and physical examinations for adult patients across a spectrum of care needs.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including common urgent care conditions, infections, and chronic disease management (e.g., hypertension, diabetes).
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide preventive care, perform routine screenings, administer immunizations, and offer patient education on health maintenance and disease management.
• Perform minor procedures such as wound care, splinting, and basic suturing.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

• Current and unrestricted Arkansas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license.
• National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP, Family NP, or Adult NP) from an accredited certifying body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
• Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited NP program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Urgent Care setting preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
