Lead Night Nurse / Night Nurse Manager – Portsmouth Care Home

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £22.00 – £24.00 per hour + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 7:30pm – 7:30am (Full-time, Permanent Nights)

Are you an experienced Lead Night Nurse / Night Nurse Manager looking to join one of Portsmouth’s most respected and forward-thinking care homes? As the Lead Night Nurse / Night Nurse Manager, you will take charge of the home during night shifts, ensuring residents receive the highest standard of person-centred clinical care. You will manage and support a team of dedicated night staff, promote best practice, and uphold the home’s reputation for excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supervising the night care team to deliver safe, high-quality care

• Providing clinical leadership and hands‑on nursing support throughout the shift

• Administering medication, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with CQC standards

• Managing emergencies, supporting residents with complex needs, and ensuring dignity and comfort overnight

• Communicating effectively with day teams to ensure seamless care continuity

• This role would suit a confident Lead Night Nurse / Night Nurse Manager who enjoys autonomy and thrives on responsibility.

To be considered for the Lead Night Nurse / Night Nurse Manager position, you must have:

• A valid NMC PIN (Registered General Nurse – RGN or Registered Mental Health Nurse – RMN)

• Experience with in elderly nursing or complex care settings

• Strong leadership, communication and clinical assessment skills

• A proactive and compassionate approach to resident wellbeing
