Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring Registered Nurses for the Outpatient Surgery Center PACU in Suffolk, VA. This full‑time position involves rotating shifts and floats between Obici and Bell Harbor locations. Ideal candidates have completed a Peri Op 101 course or have experience in pre/post, PACU, or circulator roles. Hours rotate between business hours with required call.

Sentara Obici Hospital is a recognized Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital with about 5,000 cases per year. The 40‑person team supports seven ORs and performs diverse procedures using advanced systems such as DaVinci robotic technology. The team includes RNs, surgical assistants, technologists, and OR techs across Obici and Bell Harbor, with opportunities to assist in obstetrics as needed.
ResponsibilitiesThe RN delivers competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) and adheres to professional performance standards (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, environmental health). The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for the specific clinical area.
QualificationsEducation
- Registered Nursing degree or diploma (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or MSN (preferred)
Certification & Licensure
- Registered nursing license (required)
- ACLS within 1 year of hire
- PALS within 1 year of hire
- BLS within 90 days of hire
Experience
- Scrub or circulator experience preferred
- PACU experience preferred
- Completion of a Peri Op 101 program required
- Previous operating room experience required
- 2 years of acute‑care RN experience preferred
- Manages complex cases in fast‑paced environments
- Effective communication with patients and providers
