Assist in the provision of the service and contribute to the effective running of the ward, ensuring a quality patient experience. Work with doctors and qualified nursing staff to deliver evidence‑based, individually tailored care to patients in the gynaecology division. Support relatives and carers attending the ward or associated departments, and make best use of available resources.
Key Responsibilities- Assist doctors and nursing staff with high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients in the gynaecology department.
- Assist with chaperoning scans and other procedures.
- Support cleanliness of the department and provide emotional support for patients.
- Carry out patient observations and other clinical skills.
- Prepare notes and equipment on the ward or clinics as part of routine tasks under supervision.
- Ensure security of patient valuables is locked away in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Assist in the movement of patients as and when required, using appropriate equipment.
- Contribute to a best‑possible use of resources across the department.

Security & DBSTrust policy requires the cost of DBS applications to be recovered via salary. The amount of £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced) will be deducted from salary in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement in post.
