Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the PACU - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This is a part time (2 shifts per week) day shift position in Elizabeth City, NC with required call. Sign on bonus of $7500 available for qualified candidates. PACU:
The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nursing staff are responsible for observing and treating post-operative patients from a variety of service lines. PACU is a 12-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing - BSN or MSN (Preferred)

• Registered nursing License (Required)
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

• 1 year of acute care RN experience preferred
• Critical care or PACU experience in hospital strongly preferred
• Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
• Communicates with patients and providers

The Registered Nurse is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice / nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) guide professional nursing actions.

The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
