Primary Responsibilities
- Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients.
- Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service.
- Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries.
- Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning.
- Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications.
- Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed.
- Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers.
- Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required.
- Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies.
- Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities.
- Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate.
- Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services.
- Will attend supervision by supervising Psychiatrist MD.
- Master's Degree Nursing required
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure required
- 3+ years of Nurse Practitioner experience treating complex care adult psychiatric patients required
- Experience working with patient populations with substance use disorders required
- Schedule:
Full-time Monday through Friday, standard business hours - Hybrid Work Model:
See patients at Newton Wellesley Hospital and in the community - joint visits, telemed (virtual) visits, home visits, etc. - Remote / work from home and field/clinic/community schedule is based on patient and team needs.
