Overview

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an RN for our Admit Recovery Department. This is a Full‑time day shift position in Charlottesville, VA.

Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates. No weekends, no holidays, no call schedule.

Charlottesville, VA – First (Days) shift.

This 28‑bed unit specializes in same‑day surgery and serves a diverse patient population for radiology, surgical, and endoscopy services. Nursing ratio 1–3 to patient. Operating hours Monday‑Friday 5:00 AM–7:30 PM. Rotations within operational hours are required.

• Provide high‑quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
• Conduct thorough assessments and design individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and evaluate patient responses.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post‑discharge care.
• Monitor vital signs, observe changes in condition, and intervene promptly.
• Use clinical judgment to address complex health situations and consult as needed.
• Document all care following regulatory and organizational standards.
• Uphold patient safety, adhere to evidence‑based protocols, and support a supportive environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and knowledge of nursing process and scope of practice.

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science (MSN) – preferred.

Certification / Licensure

• Registered Nursing License (required).
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire (required).

Experience

• No prior experience required.
• One year of acute care – preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience – preferred.
