Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Vascular Stepdown/Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – 9K. Sign on bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates. Relocation can be provided.

Hours:

Full Time (36 hr/week). Rotating work shift.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN utilizes standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.

The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by the specific clinical area.

9 Kaufman is a 24-bed stepdown intermediate care unit that specializes in vascular surgery, telemetry, and renal/pancreas transplant patients. It is part of the Surgical Specialty Team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The unit cares for telemetry patients with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. The unit supports extensive learning and skill development and offers opportunities related to PCCN certification with support to obtain it.

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
• Registered Nurse License (Required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
