Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a RN Unit Coordinator for the Medicine/Step Down Unit (10K) in Norfolk, VA. This is a full-time (FT) position on the First (Days) shift, 7a-7p, 36 hours per week.
Job DetailsFacility/Unit:
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a 569-bed tertiary care facility, home to the area’s only Level I Trauma Center and burn trauma unit.
Unit: 10K – a 24-bed step-down unit. Patient population includes cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and diverse wound care.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in the department.
- Under the direction of the department manager, lead safety and quality initiatives, optimize workflow, and contribute to staff development.
- Increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
- Education:
BSN or higher required - Licenses/Certifications:
Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing; BLS - Experience:
Minimum of 18 months RN experience in a hospital setting required;
Med/Surg, Stepdown or IMC experience preferred
