Location & ShiftNorfolk, VA | Third (Nights) | Full Time (36 hr/week)
Job SummaryThe Registered Nursing (RN) will provide competent nursing care in accordance with the nursing process and standards of practice and professional performance. The RN will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, coordinate care, teach, promote health, and evaluate outcomes. The unit operates a 24‑bed Medicine Cardiac Unit with telemetry and eHospital monitoring, serving post‑cardiac cath, CHF, and general medicine patients. New graduates and experienced nurses are welcomed;
the 11‑week Transition to Practice program supports orientation and skill acquisition, leading to a 6‑month residency.
- Education:
Registered Nursing degree or diploma (required) – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Students currently completing an accredited program are welcome. - Certification & Licensure:
Registered Nursing license (required). Students obtaining a RN license are accepted. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. - Experience:
None required.

Located in Norfolk, VA, Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 274‑bed acute care facility founded in 1903 and relocated in 1977. The hospital features a 24‑hour hyperbaric oxygen program and is a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, as well as a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center. Specialties include orthopedic and spine care, cardiac, vascular, maternity, and general surgery.
