Registered Nurse; RN Endoscopy

Overview

• Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Endoscopy Unit. This is a Full Time, Day shift in Charlottesville, VA.
  
  Schedule:
  
  Four 9-hour shifts (6:45 AM to 4:15 PM) Monday through Friday.
• Call Requirements: 1 weekday call from 4 PM to 6 AM and every 4th weekend.
• Sign on Bonus: $15,000 available for qualified candidates.

Endoscopy Unit

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital’s Digestive Care Center physicians treat diseases of the gallbladder, liver, mouth, stomach, intestines, pancreas, colon, and esophagus. The department sees an average of 16-18 procedures per day, ambulatory and inpatient.

The RN is responsible for delivering competent nursing care using the nursing process across assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The Standard of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance guide ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, and resource utilization.

Education

• Degree in Registered Nursing required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Certification/Licensure

• BLS within 90 days of hire
• ACLS within 6 months of hire

Experience

• Previous Endoscopy experience preferred
• 18 months of procedural nursing experience preferred
• Experience in operating room or sterile settings preferred
• Teamwork and communication skills required
