Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner-Clinical/Psychiatric) – Department of Defense, Military Treatment Facilities under DHAD/HN East, Blanch field Army Hospital, Directorate of Behavioral Health, Psychiatric Services.

Salary: $114,450 to – $143,604 per year (Pay Scale & Grade: GS‑12)

Fort Campbell, TN (Remote job – No Telework eligible)
Travel:
Occasional travel – Up to 5% business travel required; no travel required otherwise.
Type:
Permanent, full‑time service; non‑emergency, no appointment type, no relocation expenses reimbursed.
- Treat a variety of beneficiaries (children, adolescents, and adults) that request behavioral health services.
- Evaluate new behavioral health patients, gather histories, and discuss goals with patients.
- Collaborate with other members of the total treatment team to formulate the total care plan for patients.
- Prescribe medications and educate patients about risks and benefits.
- Observe patients and record any significant behavior and reaction patterns.
- Provide feedback and advice to unit commanders and other leaders regarding the well‑being of their soldiers.
- Serve in a leadership position as a consultant and role model to other health care professionals.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- The position is subject to a background investigation to determine suitability for Federal employment.
- Specific initial background investigation and periodic re‑verification requirements because duties involve interaction with minors under 18 on a recurring basis.
- Maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association and American Red Cross; advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- Submit a urinalysis for drug screening prior to appointment for all selected applicants.
- Undergo pre‑employment screening, random drug testing, and testing as required by reasonable suspicion or direct involvement with an on‑duty accident.
- Meet mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements; exempt applicants must provide documentation of exemption.
- Immunization screening, including Hepatitis B vaccination, required for all positions with direct patient contact.
- Undergo tuberculosis testing.
- Complete a pre‑employment physical examination and annual examinations thereafter.
- Possibly lift up to 44 pounds.
- Work on call during irregular hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, or varying schedules as required.
- Perform shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations; shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

Basic Requirement for Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner‑Clinical/Psychiatric):
– Degree: A graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The education must be accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or a U.S. Department of Education‑recognized accrediting body at the time the degree was obtained. – Foreign Degree:
Graduates of foreign nursing schools must have completed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program, including credential evaluation, CGFNS Qualifying Exam, and valid English proficiency exam. Provide a copy of the CGFNS Certificate.
– Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a state, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory; must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
– Specialty Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or related specialty.
