Sentara Care Plex Hospital is hiring a Manager for the Intermediate Care/Stepdown Unit. The Manager will supervise and manage a 24-hour operations.

Manager, Nursing Unit is responsible and accountable for the daily operations. Performs work assignments as needed to provide coverage and to mentor or assist staff. Interviews, hires and develops team members with the goal of developing a highly effective work team. Engages in talent retention strategies for the area(s) of responsibility.

License and Certification Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Education

RN-Bachelor's Degree, orRN-Master's Degree

Experience:

1 Year Management3 years Acute Care  (Unit Coordinator, Team Lead, or other like position may be accepted in lieu of 1 year formal management experience. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.) Unit Overview:
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a 24-bed stepdown unit for patients with medical and surgical diagnoses.

The predominant patient population includes but is not limited to acute CVAs, ventilator dependent patients-weaning and non-weaning, GI bleeds, chronic renal failure, newly diagnosed and chronic diabetes, general abdominal surgery, thoracic surgery and those diagnoses that require frequent monitoring Nursing All, Talroo-Nursing, Nursing-Critical Care, Talroo-Leadership, Nursing-Medical-Surgical, Nursing-Other, #Indeed, Step-down-other, #LI-TD1, RN Supervisor, #Careplex, Management, Leadership, Hospital, Hampton.
