The successful candidate will also be expected to provide professional support to the Children’s Community Nursing service and Rapid Response Teams. The Palliative Care Service works alongside other Specialist Nursing Services including Children’s Complex Care and Special School Nursing teams. As part of the palliative care nursing team you will participate in the on‑call programme to provide end‑of‑life care to children and young people requiring it.
In this role you will work to ensure that children and young people (CYP) and their families receive well‑supported care at home during the palliative and terminal phase, supporting social, emotional, practical and nursing needs. You will participate in care planning, symptom management, education and emotional support for families.
Requirements• Registered Children’s or Adult Nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and to act independently when required.
• Proven experience and interest in paediatric palliative care or a related nursing specialty.
• Commitment to maintaining a high standard of patient safety and quality of care.
• Leadership and management skills are strongly regarded, as the role offers developmental opportunities.
