LeadMO Action is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit cultivating a diverse and inclusive community of civic and political leaders devoted to building a Missouri centered on equitable progress. We fuel progress by recruiting and equipping diverse Missourians with the skills and networks they need to effectively engage in the political process.

About the Role

We are seeking a Programs Associate or Manager to help us build a deep and diverse talent pool of forward-thinking Missourians and connect these folks with do-good jobs and leadership opportunities. This is a permanent full-time role. Consideration for a Manager role requires greater professional experience and qualifications than an Associate role.

This person will play a key role in talent recruitment, training and matching. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented team member with a passion for developing leaders, building programs, and navigating complex relationships. LeadMO does not presently have brick-and-mortar offices and this position will work from home/remotely, but access to a coworking space may be possible. Travel within the state will be expected.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Guide a new fellowship program and gain feedback on programming effectiveness.
  • Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders and participants of the new fellowship program.
  • Maintain and utilize talent pipeline data and databases, collaborating with national partners as needed.
  • Help team members assess equity and inclusion (EI) indicators and barriers to recruitment, employment, and employee retention in Missouri’s progressive movement, and assist to develop/implement solutions.
  • Assist the Director of Talent Programs (their supervisor) in operating other programming, such as Hired Up Missouri .org and other matching efforts, and talent training and civic engagement programs.
  • Support external communications (program marketing, email listserv, social media) to promote programs and agency goals.
  • Assist team members with fund development activities to support your projects and the agency as a whole, including grant reporting, events, and other activities.
Requirements
  • Strong belief in the values, principles, and ideals of LeadMO, including our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
  • At least two years of project management experience or managing different projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Minimum of one campaign cycle/2 years of experience in nonprofit programs, organizing, or similar work (Associate role), or 2 cycles/4 years for Manager role.
  • Political savvy and the ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Willingness to tackle problems and embrace projects as part of a small, committed team.
  • Well organized, with a proven ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, efficiently use resources, and achieve measurable goals and quality outcomes.
  • Comfortable working with people from all backgrounds regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, faith, ability, or geography.
  • Outcome-driven strategic thinker; thinks ahead, anticipates and adapts to challenges and advances the organization’s strategic goals and mission.
  • Missouri resident or willing to relocate immediately.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel. This position will require regular travel (estimate less than 20% of time) within Missouri and occasional travel outside the state.
  • Experience in the state of Missouri.
  • Work history in a small nonprofit agency.
  • Mastery of Google/Microsoft Office or similar applications, Zoom.
  • Familiarity with NGP Every Action, Canva, Wordpress, and Pantheon.
  • Experience in local or state legislative political environment including time working directly with stakeholders and candidates.
Compensation
  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience and begins at $53,000 (Associate), or $60,000 (Manager).
