In alignment with MOLA’s mission, the Program Manager role provides dedicated programmatic leadership within MOLA’s Academic Pathways Division. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional with strong project and program management skills who will co-lead, coordinate, and oversee MOLA’s academic, research, and mentorship programming.
The Program Manager plays a central role in advancing MOLA’s pipeline-building efforts for Latino/a/e/x Hispanic and related identities (LHS+) health professionals and trainees nationwide. This position offers a clear growth pathway within MOLA’s organizational structure, with potential advancement into senior leadership roles.
Organizational ContextMOLA is a nonprofit professional medical association focused on advancing representation, wellness, and equity for LHS+ communities across healthcare fields. MOLA operates through two strategic divisions:
- Academic Pathways
- Leadership and Administrative Pathways
The Program Manager operates primarily within Academic Pathways and works closely with the President, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and the Leadership and Administrative Lead (Fellow).
- Plan, coordinate, and support the execution of all Academic Pathways programs and initiatives.
- Lead and manage programmatic components of awarded grants.
- Develop a working understanding of nonprofit healthcare and public health organizations.
- Align individual programs and projects with broader organizational strategy.
- Provide professional leadership in a mission-driven healthcare nonprofit setting.
- Lead and manage MOLA’s day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment between programs, committees, communications, and strategic priorities set by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
The Program Manager is responsible for strategic, medium-scale, and small-scale programmatic projects, including:
- Program planning and execution
- Committee coordination and logistical support
- Data tracking, reporting, and outcomes measurement
- Event planning and execution
- Communication content development related to programs
- Outreach and stakeholder engagement
- Sourcing, managing, and coordinating application and submission of organizational grants
- Education and Research

- International Health Graduates
- Coordinate scholarship application, awarding, and program management processes.
- Support and contribute to grant-writing initiatives and manage awarded grants.
- Lead planning and execution of the annual Latinx Health Conference and related academic events.
- Schedule, co-lead, and support monthly Academic Pathways committee meetings.
- Provide regular program updates to the Board of Directors.
- Develop and manage MOLA’s Annual Outcomes Report.
- Coordinate program-related communications in collaboration with the Leadership and Administrative Lead.
- Facilitate and manage MOLA’s Mentorship Program, including mentor and mentee recruitment, matching, engagement, and evaluation.
- Design and implement program evaluation tools and outcome surveys.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Public Health, Health Administration, program management, or related field).
- Two years of professional experience or equivalent graduate-level training.
- Strong alignment with MOLA’s mission and values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable leading meetings and presenting to stakeholders.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Approximately 80% remote, 20% in-person (primarily Chicago-based events).
- Flexible schedule with frequent evening and weekend meetings.
- Board meetings typically held remotely on the third Saturday of the month.
