Local Coordinator; Contracted

Greenheart Exchange, a division of Greenheart International, has been fostering cultural exchange and global understanding since 1985. Our J-1 High School Program connects international students with welcoming host families across the U.S., promoting cross-cultural learning and lifelong friendships. Endorsed by the City of Chicago, Greenheart is committed to global leadership, citizen diplomacy, and sustainability. As a Local Coordinator with Greenheart Exchange, you’ll have the opportunity to earn domestic and international travel incentives while making a meaningful impact in your community. Our most dedicated Local Coordinators have attended conferences in Italy, Spain, Greece, Colombia, Argentina, and more!

• Recruit and support host families interested in welcoming an international student.
• Guide families through the approval process and provide orientations.
• Serve as a mentor for students and host families throughout the school year.
• Build relationships with local high schools to facilitate student placements.
• Encourage student engagement through volunteer activities.

• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable internet access and home office setup.
• Completion of a Department of State certification test (Greenheart provides training).

• Passionate about cultural exchange and community-building.
• Skilled at networking and relationship-building.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Experienced in mentoring youth (a plus!).
