AARP’s Community, State and National Affairs (CSN) Group includes Government Relations, Programs, Volunteer Engagement, Community Outreach and Advocacy at the federal, state and local levels. It delivers on AARP’s social mission by educating and engaging people 50-plus and their families, strengthening communities, and championing issues that help give people financial and health security.

The AARP Mobilization Campaign team is seeking talented individuals like you to join our cause and help us create and execute various advocacy campaigns that drive meaningful change. As part of our team, you'll get to work on some of the most critical policy issues of our time - including voter engagement, Social Security, and family caregiving campaigns - and help build a brighter future for future generations!

- Support reporting and presentation efforts to help tell our story both internally and externally
- Manage timely responses to activist questions through our Grassroots Advocacy Inbox
- Help with internal management of Campaigns projects, including drafting and reviewing communications, tracking deliverables in Asana, and more
- Support AARP's priority issue campaigns, including voter engagement, Social Security, caregiving, prescription drugs, and more
- Work on special projects that support AARP's advocacy work, including the Grassroots Field Program, email, texting, fundraising, and more
- Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university, rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
- Must be a self-starter and adaptable, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Exceptional verbal/written communication skills

- Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
- In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
