Job Summary
The Donor Development Officer will play a crucial role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors to support Live Beyond's mission. This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for international development and humanitarian work. The Donor Development Officer will be responsible for managing donor communications, developing engagement strategies, and ensuring a positive donor experience.
A key responsibility of this role is to develop and steward strategic partnerships with churches. This includes representing the organization through speaking engagements during worship services and events, coordinating volunteer opportunities, cultivating new donor relationships, and faithfully stewarding and strengthening existing donor partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesDonor Cultivation and Stewardship
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward donors at all levels.
- Maintain regular communication with donors through personalized outreach, including phone calls, emails, letters, and in-person meetings.
- Create and execute engagement plans for major donors, ensuring timely follow-up and meaningful interactions.
- Organize and coordinate donor visits to Live Beyond's project sites, providing detailed briefings and ensuring a memorable experience.
- Manage church relationships and cultivate new relationships.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop annual fundraising goals and strategies.
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.
- Prepare compelling proposals, reports, and presentations for donors, highlighting Live Beyond's impact and future needs.
- Track and analyze donor data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive donor communications calendar, ensuring consistent and strategic outreach.
- Create engaging content for donor newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce high-quality donor materials, including brochures, impact reports, and thank-you letters.
- Ensure all donor communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with Live Beyond's mission and values.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the Virtuous CRM system.
- Generate regular reports on donor activity, fundraising progress, and stewardship efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of donor relations strategies, making adjustments as needed.
- Provide support to the Director of Development and other team members as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
- Proven track record of cultivating and stewarding donor relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Virtuous CRM software Google products and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for international development and humanitarian work.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in international development or with NGOs.
- Knowledge of global health, maternal and child healthcare, and educational programs.
- Familiarity with fundraising software and digital communication tools.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
