Position Summary

The Festival at Sandpoint (FAS) is seeking a highly organized and people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program for the Summer Series. This role oversees recruitment, scheduling, training, and on-site management of volunteers who support festival operations across all departments.

The Festival at Sandpoint’s Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Community Engagement Coordinator and will be responsible for supporting all volunteer departments for the Summer Series. This role begins part-time in-office during the planning phase and transitions into an on-site position during the series. On-site dinner will be provided on show days during the Summer Series.

Seasonal Structure
  • Part-time: 15-20 hours per week (potential for some remote work)
  • Manage volunteer applications and scheduling
  • Coordinate with the Community Engagement Coordinator to staff volunteer departments
  • Assist in planning and execution of Volunteer Meet & Greet Event
  • Plan and execute department orientations as needed
Summer Series:
July 30 - August 9
  • On-site presence required, hours may increase
  • Evenings and weekends required
  • Manage volunteer daily assignments and check-in
  • Serve as primary point of contact for volunteers
  • Coordinate with Department leads to ensure adequate staffing
  • Adjust schedules in real time as needed
Post-Series:
August 10 - 12
  • Provide series-end communications to the volunteer base, including the distribution of feedback survey.
  • Ensure accurate post-event reporting, volunteer data updates, and internal recap contributions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the volunteer program lifecycle: recruitment, scheduling, training, and on-site supervision
  • Collaborate with Festival staff to ensure departments are fully staffed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve volunteer-related issues
  • Prohibit entry for all non-scheduled volunteers
Qualifications Required
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to remain calm and solutions-oriented in high-pressure situations
  • Experience coordinating teams
  • Comfortable working extended hours during live event dates
Preferred
  • Familiarity with CRM or volunteer management platforms
Physical and Schedule Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Availability for evenings and weekends during the Summer Series

This is a seasonal, term-based position: $20.00/hr, overtime rates apply

Performance access at the end of each shift
