Make a Difference in the Fight Against Climate Change

The Climate Action Accelerator is an international non‑profit initiative based in Geneva, which aims to mobilise a critical mass of community organisations to scale up climate solutions, keep global warming below 2°C and avoid the risk of dangerous runaway climate change. The Accelerator already counts 40 partner organisations (in our three targeted sectors: aid, health and higher education). By enabling them to work as a community, the Accelerator helps these organisations reduce their GHG emissions by at least half each decade, becoming champions within their own ecosystems and delivering valuable transformational change.

This effort intends to foster a domino effect encouraging the exponential deployment of sustainable solutions throughout society.

Health Programme Overview

The health team works with health and aid organizations in low‑and middle‑income environments to develop and implement environmentally sustainable and climate‑resilient healthcare delivery models, thus reducing sector‑wide emissions through low‑carbon technologies and methods. Partner organizations are supported to extend these practices within their settings and beyond, through strategic partnerships with health ministries, action communities, policymakers, supply chains, and donors.

Connection to Broader Initiatives

In the health sector, we focus on creating sustainable and resilient healthcare facilities and programs. Key themes include mitigation, adaptation to climate change, and maintaining planetary boundaries related to pollution and biodiversity.

As a Health Programme Intern, you will support project management tasks including the development of proposals, project implementation, coordination with partners and donors, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL). You will support development and improvement of technical tools and resources, generation of presentations and communication materials, literature reviews, and analysis of data to support climate and ecological solutions within the health sector.
