We are seeking a Program & Outreach Assistant to support our programs, outreach efforts, and growing community needs. Because we are a small nonprofit, this role is flexible and may evolve based on organizational priorities and the individual’s skills and interests. This position is ideal for someone seeking meaningful, part‑time work with flexibility and room to grow.

• Assist with community outreach, education, and support initiatives related to neurofibromatosis
• Communicate with individuals and families
  , as well as clinics, medical professionals, researchers, and community partners
• Support and help coordinate programs, events, and educational activities
• Provide information and support to community members as needed
• Maintain and update databases, CRM systems, and program records
• Update and manage educational and outreach materials
• Collaborate with the team on program development and implementation
• Perform administrative and organizational tasks that support daily operations
• Participate in occasional travel, primarily on weekends, to support events, outreach, or programs
• Attend occasional evening meetings as needed

• Highly organized and detail‑oriented
• Comfortable using computer programs, databases, and online platforms
• Database and CRM experience strongly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, compassionate, and comfortable communicating with diverse audiences
• Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Valid driver’s license required

• Background in medicine, nursing, education, social work
  , or a related field
• Personal or family experience with neurofibromatosis (NF) is a plus
• Experience working in a nonprofit or community‑based organization

• Part‑time position, approximately 15–20 hours per week
• Most work is to be done during daytime hours between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM
  , with flexibility to choose a schedule within that window
• Occasional evening hours for meetings
• Opportunity for the role to grow over time for candidates who desire additional responsibility

• Hourly pay range: $18–$22 per hour
  , based on experience
• Mileage reimbursement provided for approved travel

• Preference is for candidates to work in person at our office in St. Charles, IL
• We are open to considering remote work as an independent contractor for candidates with a strong background and experience
• Remote candidates must reside in one of the following states:
• Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Minnesota, or Wisconsin
