SUMMARY:
U nder the supervision of the Assistant Director of Coalitions , the Youth Program Coordinator is a full‐time exempt position. The Youth Program Coordinator is the primary point of contact and facilitator for those engaged in statewide youth leadership efforts to prevent gender-based violence. The Youth Program Coordinator also serves as a liaison between the D2K Campaign and End Abuse’s prevention grantees, member agencies and other youth‐serving organizations, equipping these entities with the tools, resources, and knowledge to successfully engage youth and amplify primary prevention efforts in Wisconsin .

In the summer of 2022, End Domestic Abuse Wisconsinlauncheda Statewide Youth Leadership Program. This program engagesyouth leadersaged
14to18who are interested in promoting healing and healthy relationships and addressing conflict in nonviolent ways. The Youth Program Coordinator servesas the primary point person, thelead organizer and facilitator of Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Programactivities.
- Implement processes for screening Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Programapplicants and criteria for accepting these applicants into the program. - Co‐develop and implement workflows for sending Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Programmembers resources andtools. - Respond to inquiries from Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Programmembers, provide advice, encouragement and resources for their leadership and engagement in their communities. - Advise onthe creation ofadditionalresources to support the Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Program. - Co-lead coordination to develop and implement policies,procedures,and workflows for Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Programmembers to be featured on the website,through social media or other avenues of public awareness and outreach - Participate in Teen Summit planning, especially as it relates to the participation of Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Programmembers.
Support the implementation of the Dare2
Know (D2K) Campaign and raise public
awareness about the importance of healthy relationships and healing in Wisconsin
- Follow and share D2K social media content to engage audiences and raise awareness across Wisconsin.
- Support with media inquiries and interview requests related to D2K or the Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Program. - Collaborate with
D2K Teen Ambassador Programto generatecreativedirection for social media content and to co-create ideas for ongoing outreachmonthly. - Coordinate and integrate the promotion of D2K at the Annual Teen Summit in collaboration with the Prevention & Engagement Team and Statewide
D2K Teen Ambassador Program. - Maintain a keen understanding of trends affecting the movement to end teen dating violence and make appropriate recommendationsregardingthe communication strategy surrounding them.
Support other End Abuse Prevention & Advocacy Programming Efforts
- Collaborate with the End Domestic Abuse WI Prevention & Engagement Team and with other youth-serving organizations to engage in outreach,change social norms and promote primary prevention efforts.
- Participate in the planning and execution of the Annual Teen Summit.
- Support efforts to meaningfullyengage inculturally specific programs, particularly Nativeadvocates,and Tribal communities.
- Attend staff meetings,as necessary.
Other duties: Compile data; plan, carry out and coordinate project evaluation activities;submittimelydata and reports to End Abuse’s database for grant reporting.
QualificationsRequired
- An existing understanding of primary,secondary and tertiary prevention strategies for domestic,dating,and sexual violence. Candidates should be familiar with promising practices related to engaging youth and primary prevention efforts.
- An existing understanding of, or be able to learn about, the movement to end violence against women/domestic violence, its history,philosophy,and the impact of oppression on survivors, particularly on members of historically marginalized communities.
- Experience working with underrepresented and/or underserved populations and with individuals across the lifespan.
- Experience and comfort with public speaking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
