Overview
Savi, a registered Public Benefit Corporation, is a leader in student loan education, empowering consumers to save money on student loans and explore new education options through its technology platform and one-on-one human support. Since 2017, Savi has helped student loan borrowers find $5+ billion in student loan savings across 10,000+ employers and membership groups, including AARP, Met Life, NEA, TIAA, and more.
Our mission is to help the 46+ million student loan borrowers better understand their debt, find federal forgiveness programs, and enroll.
We’re looking for people who have the desire to help support the education of borrowers and build community partnerships to further grow our reach. Savi partners with local governments, non-profits, schools and other partners to provide student loan education resources to community residents.
Responsibilities- Be based in the Detroit, Michigan area; initial organizing work will focus on Detroit and the surrounding communities. Travel around the metropolitan area will be required frequently, and travel outside the area will be rare.
- The position is entirely remote (there is no office), but the work requires frequent visits to community events and partner locations.
- Develop and manage community partnerships with local governments, non-profits, schools and other partners to provide student loan education resources.
- Engage with community residents, organize outreach activities, and support initiatives aligned with Savi’s mission.
Compensation: minimum salary is $4,000/month ($48,000 annually)
with additional compensation commensurate with experience

- 1 year of organizing or campaign experience.
- Recent college graduates welcome.
- Experience with community organizing, preferably in Michigan
- Comfort with self-directed work
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced work environment
- An interest in and aptitude for working with new technologies and a social-impact start-up
- Interest in the social impact mission of the company.
