About UsTech Equity Inc. is a nonprofit organization that democratizes access to artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge and applications. Tech Equity Ai serves as the branded public-facing identity of Tech Equity Inc. Our flagship event is the “Tech Equity Ai Summit,” a series of high-impact events designed to foster innovation, broad participation, and education in AI. In addition to our flagship initiative, Tech Equity Ai also hosts monthly events that keep our community engaged year-round through ongoing learning, networking, and hands‑on exploration of emerging AI tools and ideas.
These initiatives feature keynote speeches, expert‑led panels, interactive workshops, and showcases of cutting‑edge AI applications through exhibits.
We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the Operations team to lead our volunteer recruitment efforts for the Tech Equity Ai events. This role involves identifying, onboarding, and managing volunteers across key departments to ensure the event’s success.
This role is structured for at least 25 hours per week for a minimum of six months, with the option to extend.
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role for individuals who excel in dynamic environments. While a volunteer position, it upholds the high standards of Silicon Valley’s tech and nonprofit sector. We seek independent, resourceful problem‑solvers with relevant experience who are ready to apply their knowledge and take on multiple responsibilities to support the team. Success in this role requires adaptability, initiative, independence and a willingness to step in where needed.
This opportunity is not structured as a training program; it is an opportunity to engage in high‑impact work, gain real‑world exposure in a results‑driven AI and technology landscape.
For volunteer work shorter than six months, a two‑week transition notice will be provided by both parties to ensure a smooth conclusion or transition of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain volunteers.
- Source, interview, and place volunteers in key departments based on skills and interests.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and engagement activities for volunteers.
- Manage volunteer logistics and scheduling in collaboration with department leads.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive volunteer culture, ensuring alignment with Tech Equity Ai’s mission.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and contributions.
- Oversee recruitment efforts for the following departments:
- Speakers
- Exhibitors and Partners
- Fundraising
- Marketing & Creative
- Operations
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, HR, event planning, or talent acquisition.
- Experience in event staffing and coordinating volunteers across multiple departments.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using volunteer management tools, scheduling software, and HR platforms.
- Ability to develop inclusive recruitment practices that align with Tech Equity Ai’s mission of equity and accessibility.
- Creative problem‑solving skills to address recruitment challenges and improve volunteer engagement.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a seamless volunteer experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrating self‑motivation and effective time management.
