Lead Pastor of English Ministry (EM) – Full-time
Open Door Community Church (ODCC) is a vibrant community of believers that encompasses students, working professionals, married couples, and families. ODCC functions as the English Ministry of Western Open Door Church, which is primarily a first-generation Korean church. The church's mission is to lead individuals into a transformative encounter with God through the cross of Christ, encouraging them to become committed and faithful followers of Jesus.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Lead Pastor of English Ministry (EM) based in Los Angeles, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Lead Pastor will oversee the spiritual growth and pastoral care of the congregation. Day-to-day tasks include preaching, leading worship services, conducting Bible studies, discipling members, and overseeing various ministry programs. The Lead Pastor will also engage the community and foster spiritual development within the church.
The EM is part of a larger Korean-American church, so the EM Pastor will attend occasional Korean Ministry (KM) staff meetings. Proficiency in Korean is a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preach and teach God’s Word faithfully and engagingly
- Shepherd members through pastoral care, prayer, and discipleship
- Provide spiritual and organizational leadership for the EM ministry
- Lead outreach & community engagement to connect with the broader LA community
- Collaborate with KM pastoral staff and attend designated KM meetings
Qualifications
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience and skills in Pastoring, Pastoral Care, and Pastoral responsibilities
- Ordained in a recognized presbytery
- Competence in leading Bible Study and Discipleship
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Fluency in English required; proficiency in Korean is a plus. Familiarity with Reformed theology and Presbyterian polity is helpful but not required. A shepherd’s heart with a passion for outreach, discipleship, and community.
