Position Summary: Traveling Leadership Specialists are adaptable and inclusive leaders with a strong presence, resilience, and a talent for building meaningful relationships. They collaborate with collegiate chapters, volunteers, and staff within assigned regional areas to foster growth and success, andare responsible for driving impactful member development initiatives,providing expert guidance on chapter operations and retention, and offering strategic consulting tailored to individual needs.
As a valued member of the Sorority staff, this position also handles essential administrative tasks, ensuring seamless support for this Sorority’s mission. This position requires a commitment to excellence and the ability to thrive in a role that involves both travel and occasional evening and weekend work.
- Bachelor’s degreeisrequired
- Proficiency with written and oral communication, customer service, organizational and delegation skills, attention to detail,IT skills,presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to appreciate and work with individuals and experiences that are different thanone'sown
- Knowledge of Sigma Kappa Sorority operations,Bylaws,Ritual,policies and procedures
- Prior experience in creating trust,development and implementation of change efforts
- Prior experience as
Sigma Kappa chapter officer, Panhellenic officerand/or campus leaderpreferred
- Supportcollegiate chapter officers, local and national volunteersfor assigned districtsin all areas of chapteroperations through a mix of in-person and virtual efforts.
- Visit collegiate chapters to support chapter operations, officer education, ritualassistance,retention and membershipexperience andother responsibilities.
- Manageindividualtravelschedules, including creating travel plansandbooking travel arrangements.
- Develop,hostand assesscollegiate officer round tables and training sessionsto address identified chapterconcernsand needs.
- Work collaboratively with the programming and training team to create and/orfacilitate training modules, development trainings, etc.
- Provideon-sitestaff support and facilitation at any national events such as bi-annual national convention and annual Summit for Collegiate Leadership.
- Completeadministrative duties related tothe position including but not limited to:
- Write and distribute visit reportsatthe conclusion of collegiate chapter visits.
- Processand record all data related to assigned collegiate districtsandchapters.
- Assess the strengths andopportunitiesofassignedchaptersand make suggestions for follow-up.
Evaluate chapter effectiveness and adherence to national policies.
Work with staff and volunteer teams to create chapter plans of action to address chapter issues and needs. - Meet with fraternity/sorority advisors,designated chapter officers and attend chapter functions (excluding social functions) during each visit. Provide ongoing support to chapter officersvirtually.
- Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the chief executive officer, senior director of membership strategy, director of collegiatemanagement, or collegiate support managers of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
- Consistently perform all job responsibilities while both working from home-baseand traveling.
- Consistentlydemonstratethrough words, actions and interactions, alignment with the Sorority’s values, strategic direction,and commitment to diversity, equity,accessand inclusion, focusing on the success of the organization.
- Promote the ongoing development of a service rapport with chapters, local and nationalvolunteersand all members of the Sorority.
- Represent Sigma Kappa within related professional organizations as approved by the executive director.
- Demonstrate a positive, problem-solving mindset and a spirit of teamwork, customerserviceand cooperation.
