Position Summary
The Community Engagement and Mission Delivery Coordinator is a field-based recruiter and brand ambassador for Girl Scouts, responsible for outreach and lead generation in assigned communities, as well as multiple duties within a specific region. With a focus on recruiting new girls and adult members, this position enhances community visibility through school visits, local event participation, and cultivating partnerships and field trip/travel partners.
Coordinators will provide volunteer communication and management, in-person and online leader meetings, service team support, and conflict management. Coordinators will be responsible for implementing assigned recruitment strategies, meeting specific lead and conversion quotas, and tracking and reporting on all engagements. Coordinators should be highly motivated to grow membership while establishing relationships with volunteers and service areas to strengthen our community visibility.
Position will serve the Upper Peninsula of Michigan from your home office. Frequent day travel throughout the Upper Peninsula will be required.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of assigned recruitment regions/service areas, including schools, faith-based organizations, non-profits, and community partners, building strong relationships to share the Girl Scout impact and support recruitment efforts.
- Identify and participate in community events, festivals, school activities, and presentations that offer opportunities for visibility with a priority on lead generation.
- Deliver engaging, mission-driven presentations to girls, parents, educators, and community leaders.
- Initiate and support the formation of new troops by inspiring and recruiting volunteers, filling key roles, and establishing troop structures.
- Provide clear communication with and volunteer management to assigned service teams. Assist in providing events and training, and supporting them in planning and delivering meetings.
- Support troop placement for girls and volunteers and implement the renewal strategy.
- Coordinate regional events and programs. Instruct new program partners on Girl Scout policies and practices, and support them in becoming a council partner.
- Assess assigned service areas and determine needs for outreach. Work with the Community Engagement and Mission Delivery Manager to coordinate outreach sites. Deliver Girl Scout outreach programs to the Girl Scouts at assigned sites.
- Ensure girl and adult safety through the promotion of education, safe practices, and consistent interpretation of GSUSA and GSNWGL policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support council functions through promotion of activities, meetings, and volunteer opportunities. Promote the Girl Scout culture of philanthropy by cultivating and building relationships with donors.
- Accurately enter all outreach and lead data into CRM systems, nurture leads for conversion, and track ROI.
- Promote the Girl Scout experience in underserved and culturally diverse neighborhoods.
- Collaborate with other coordinators on shared recruitment opportunities and strategies.
- Maintain flexible hours, including regular evenings and weekends.
- Oral and Written Communication - whether in person, verbal, or written, expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for the individual or group; listens to and comprehends what others are saying; prepares organized and structured presentations; demonstrates the ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues and communicate effectively with a diverse group of girls, volunteers, and staff.
- Technical computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, customer relationship management systems, and social networking.
