This is a full-time hybrid role based in Akron, OH, for a 211 Specialist. The 211 Specialist will assist individuals by providing referrals, information, and support through phone, email, and online inquiries regarding community resources and programs. Responsibilities include assessing client needs, identifying and providing appropriate resources, and maintaining accurate documentation of all communications. The role requires a focus on delivering compassionate and professional service.

Some remote work is acceptable for this role.

• Strong communication skills, including active listening, verbal and written communication
• Ability to assess client needs, conduct research, and effectively use resource databases
• Proficiency in computer skills, data entry, and familiarity with customer service or case management systems
• Empathy, cultural competence, and ability to work with diverse populations
• Capability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment and maintain professionalism in both in-person and remote settings
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
• Experience in nonprofit or community resource navigation is a plus
