AI is unique in leveraging the power of social capital to promote healthcare, education, and sustainable development in underserved communities in India, Kenya, Ghana, and the USA. With a particular focus on women, girls, and their families, AI utilizes Social Capital Credits (SoCCs), its community currency for social good that has received the World Changing Idea Award, as well as awards from MIT SOLVE, General Motors, and others.
The organization enjoys the strong support of former Secretary-General of the United Nations, H.E. Ban Ki-moon, in whose honor the annual Ban Ki-moon Award for Women’s Empowerment is bestowed yearly, and of several other global thought leaders. Asia Initiatives (AI) is a New York-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Asia Initiatives is seeking an experienced, energetic, and enterprising Development Officer to elevate our fundraising efforts. The Officer will develop and implement a strategic plan to significantly increase our financial support from foundations and philanthropic donors. The role involves working closely with the co-founder, staff, and Board Members. The ideal candidate will have extensive contacts and familiarity within the philanthropic fundraising space.
Competitive compensation will be offered based on qualifications. This position is based in New York, with flexibility for remote work and in-person meetings as needed.
- Develop and implement AI’s fundraising strategy aligned with our organizational goals.
- Identify potential foundations, corporations, and other donors; pursue grant opportunities and manage the application process.
- Lead the fundraising efforts for our flagship 21st Annual Gala scheduled for September 9, and other campaigns and events.
- Support outreach by Board members to their networks, enhancing the organization’s profile.
- Manage CRM, record-keeping, communications, and other tasks related to fundraising activities in collaboration with support staff.
