Independent Advocate – E‑tivity Solutions
Are you passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and thriving in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Independent Advocate to join our vibrant team in the bustling heart of Birmingham.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Independent Advocate, you will provide crucial support to vulnerable adults facing significant health and social care challenges. Your duties include:
- Delivering statutory advocacy services such as Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) and Care Act Advocacy.
- Representing clients through persuasive verbal and written representations.
- Collaborating with public and voluntary organisations to address client issues.
- Taking directed actions on behalf of clients to resolve concerns.
Hours: Full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm.
Location: Home‑based with travel around the Birmingham area; applicants must live within the area, hold a full driver’s licence and have access to their own transport.
Salary: Starting at £24,242.40 per annum.
Contract: Permanent.
Requirements- Strong communication and time‑management skills suitable for remote work.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and the ability to learn client‑management software.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accurate recording of records and timely reporting.
- Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role within health, social care, or the voluntary sector.
- Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.
- 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after 5 years), with the option to buy or sell up to 5 days and a birthday off after 1 year.
- Discretionary shutdown days at Christmas (up to 4 additional days).
- 1 Community Leave Day per annum.

Enhanced DBS and National Offender Management Service vetting will be required.
