Cost

In-person placement
: from $1466 USD for the first 2 weeks + from $608 for each week thereafter

Online placement
: from $1081 USD for the first 2 weeks + from $415 for each week thereafter

Responsibilities

As a Marketing and Communications Intern, you will be given ownership of the organization's outreach projects, working with Directors and other interns to promote development initiatives. The daily activities may vary and include the following:

  • Social media content creation and management for Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, and Twitter
  • Photography and videography to support communications; capture biodiversity and community events
  • Coordination of the design of promotional material for the organization and its partners; design merchandise
  • Communication with our team at home and abroad; engage with the Lobitos community; organize and promote workshops and in-person events; newsletters; webinars and online fundraising events
  • Online program activities: marketing research, content curation, creation of graphic elements, monitoring engagement, and implementing marketing and communication goals
  • Participate in online seminars on NGO management, outreach, sustainability, research methods, and community engagement
Online Program

You can participate in this position through our Online Program with a discounted financial contribution. Online activities may include:

  • Marketing research for upcoming initiatives
  • Content curation for all forms of social media and marketing
  • Creation of graphic elements to be used online
  • Implementation of visual elements and monitoring engagement on online channels
  • Implementation of marketing and communication goals

  • NGO/Social enterprise creation and management
  • Outreach and Business Development
  • Sustainability perspectives from a local on-the-ground development organization
  • International environmental and social sustainability standards
  • Research methods and community engagement
About the project

This project works with a surfing-inspired sustainable development nonprofit (NGO) driving development in coastal communities in northern Peru through sustainability. We develop environmental, educational, infrastructure, and socio-economic projects in partnership with local communities and international interns.
