SENIOR MANAGER, INDIVIDUAL GIVING

  • Location: Hybrid work environment. Office expectation is approximately 60% and includes meeting with donors and with colleagues in-office. Remote work can be up to 40%. As a community foundation with a statewide focus, community context is an integral aspect to achieve the Foundation’s mission. As such, the incumbent to this position should reside within the state of Minnesota and within a commutable distance to WFM’s office in Minneapolis.

The Senior Manager, Individual Giving supports and increases the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota’s impact by leveraging donors and building meaningful relationships through donor engagement activities and other events. This is a leadership role, engaging in daily collaboration across the Foundation’s departments to creatively and strategically engage external supporters. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in managing robust portfolios to meet fundraising goals, strategically growing and expanding the Foundation’s portfolio of leadership level donors, determining appropriate charitable giving vehicles including donor advised funds (DAFs) and engaging donors and DAF holders in fundraising priorities.

The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota centers communities in our approach, work, and relationship building. This is a leadership opportunity to secure major gifts from individual donors, including unrestricted annual gifts, designated gifts for programs, donor advised funds, and planned gift commitments, by managing a portfolio of current and new high-capacity donors. The Senior Manager, Individual Giving will work closely with the Vice President of Advancement to co-create a workplan for strategic partner engagement and lead the implementation.

This position will act as a key ambassador for WFM through personal contact with donors and prospects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ROLE SPECIFIC (1) Manage, engage, and grow a robust portfolio of 200-250 major individual donors and prospects to meet annual fundraising goals, with responsibility for identification, cultivation, and stewardship to secure unrestricted and designated gifts. (70%)
  • Create, develop, and implement plans that will serve as fundraising strategies for individual donors including major gift prospecting, upgrading, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
    • Work with individual donors to understand their philanthropic goals and determine appropriate pathways to increase their involvement and giving to WFM.
  • Manage activity through the moves management process in collaboration with Advancement team members and others to support prospect research, supporting materials, restricted giving opportunities, and endowments.
  • Manage stewardship calendar for all individual donors and donor advised fund holders in collaboration with Advancement and Communications teams.
  • Collaborate with Senior Partnerships & Events Officer to create donor acquisition engagement strategies to broaden and diversify the donor base, including engaging next generation philanthropists.
  • Manage a donor advised fund program for current and prospective fund holders, including marketing, donor education, opportunities for collaboration, legacy giving, and other charitable giving education.
  • Ensure all strategies, prospect information, donor information, and planned and completed initiatives are recorded in Raisers Edge. This includes all actions and contact reports, along with any related follow-up activities.
    • Provide regular progress reports on prospect cultivation and solicitation.
    • Promptly complete and file thorough reports of all contacts in Raisers Edge.
