The role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. A standard work week may include up to one remote “flex day” with leadership approval, supporting a hybrid approach that balances collaboration and flexibility.
About the JobPet Smart Charities is seeking a Senior Veterinary Program Manager to lead student education and scholarship initiatives that support emerging veterinarians pursuing careers in Community Medicine, including nonprofit, shelter, and accessible‑care settings. This role owns the day‑to‑day management of Charities’ student‑focused veterinary programs, including scholarship administration, mentorship coordination, training experiences, and outcomes assessment.
In partnership with the Director of Veterinary Affairs, the Senior Veterinary Program Manager also supports broader veterinary initiatives, contributes to data collection and reporting, and helps strengthen academic and industry partnerships. The ideal candidate is passionate about expanding access to veterinary care, experienced in managing mission‑driven programs, and motivated to support the next generation of veterinary professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, launch, and ongoing management of student‑focused veterinary education and scholarship programs.
- Refine program structure, timelines, and deliverables to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement.
- Manage application, selection, and onboarding processes for scholarship recipients and program participants.
- Establish and maintain mentorship networks with participating organizations and veterinary professionals.
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high‑impact training and learning opportunities.
- Monitor and support university‑based and student accessible‑care experiences.
- Develop metrics and tools to measure program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
- Analyze program data to identify trends, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare clear, data‑informed reports for leadership and funding partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, mentors, academic partners, and program collaborators.
- Build and sustain relationships with veterinary schools, nonprofit organizations, and industry partners.
- Represent Pet Smart Charities at conferences, workshops, and outreach events.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Three or more years of experience managing programs or initiatives within nonprofit, education, veterinary, or mission‑driven organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in project or program management, including coordination with subject‑matter experts.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in program evaluation or impact measurement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills.
- Passion for mentorship, professional development, and expanding access to veterinary care.
