Independent Advocate – Part‑time (Bank)

Base pay: £12.60 per hour – salary assessed based on skills and experience.

Location:

Nottingham – home‑based with travel around the Nottingham area. Applicants must have a full driver’s licence and access to their own transport. Hours are variable between 9am‑5pm, Monday‑Friday as required.

Role Overview

As a casual bank advocate you will support vulnerable adults to make informed decisions about their health and social care. The role requires a values‑based approach, a passion for advocacy, and effective communication skills in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy and information services to clients, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Maintain accurate client records and report to meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with local, national and voluntary organisations to support client outcomes.
  • Comply with DBS and national vetting requirements.
Essential Qualifications
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills suitable for remote work.
  • Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel – and willingness to learn client‑management software.
  • Attention to detail; able to record and report accurately.
  • Full driver’s licence and own transport.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous advocacy, information or advice role in health, social care or the voluntary sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable adults.
  • Knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.
