  • Hours:

This is a fantastic opportunity to help share the story of the Disability Arts movement and preserve our shared heritage for future generations. This role will support the Heritage Project Director in the successful delivery of the 3-year project, funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, in tandem with our London-focussed heritage work that is resourced through Trust for London’s Disability Justice Fund.

Cripping Culture: a Journey into Disability Arts Heritage will research and reveal the achievements of the disabled artists and activists who put disability rights on the map from the late 1970s onwards.
* Cripping, like queering, uses a reclaimed word to apply a disability lens to culture.

The Heritage Project Coordinator will support the Heritage Project Director in overseeing the management of Cripping Culture to ensure the project’s success. Part-funded by the Access to Work scheme, a key part of the role is to meet the administrative access support requirements of the Heritage Project Director.

Before applying for the role, please read, watch or listen to the job pack on the DAO website . The pack is available in the following formats: PDF, easy read, plain text, BSL video and audio.

Disability Arts Online is dedicated to increasing the number of disabled people workinginarts and culture. With every job, we want as many disabled people with the essential skills/experience to apply as possible. 77% of our current staff team identify as disabled.

We acknowledge that institutional racism, discrimination and inequality exist in our sector and understand that disability is an intersectional experience. As such, we are strongly committed to ensuring that people from diverse backgrounds and protected characteristics are part of our organisation, across our staff, board of trustees, and freelancers.
