Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $80,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Scope and Structure of Bainbridge Performing Arts

BPA incorporates multiple areas of operation: BPA Mainstage productions, BPA Theatre School, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, and the BPA Studio Series. In addition, BPA serves as a community space, with additional programming, initiatives, collaborations, and partnerships that help us achieve our mission through robust community engagement.

Reporting Relationship

The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director. Freelancers, volunteers, or interns working on marketing/communications projects may report to or be coordinated by the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Work Location & Schedule

This position is primarily based on-site at BPA on Bainbridge Island, with remote work flexibility available when appropriate. Most work will take place during standard business hours (Mon–Fri). However, this role will require some evening and weekend availability in order to remain connected to productions, events, and community activity.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Manager

An integral part of the staff team, BPA’s Marketing and Communications Manager serves as one of BPA s key professional representatives. They manage and support all aspects of organizational communications. This role supports all BPA activity including Mainstage productions, Studio Series, Theatre School, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, The EDGE Improv, fundraising efforts, and general operations.

External Communications
  • Lead on organization-wide messaging and public-facing communications, including press releases, promotional campaigns, seasonal messaging, and printed materials.
  • Coordinate with key team members to create communications that support programming, development, and community engagement.
Patron and Donor Communications
  • Collaborate with the Front of House Manager and other staff to ensure consistent, effective, and welcoming communication across all points of the patron and donor journey.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to support donor stewardship messaging and communications related to fundraising efforts, events, appeals, and impact reports.
Internal Communications
  • Assist with internal communications to staff, volunteers, performers, and collaborators to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Support communication needs around internal events, programs, and initiatives.
Communication Tech
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and evolution of communication-related digital tools such as Jotform, Mailchimp, Canva, and others.
  • Contribute to the management of digital workflows that support efficiency and collaboration across the organization.
Audio-Visual Communications
  • Produce or coordinate production of audio-visual content in support of organizational activity (e.g. social media videos, event slideshows, digital signage).
