Zoo Media is expanding its creative ecosystem into books, magazines, educational materials, and multimedia publishing — and we’re building a team of passionate interns to help bring these projects to life. Our mission is to empower youth and emerging creators through accessible storytelling, digital literacy, and innovative media platforms.
We’re seeking energetic, curious, and creative interns who want hands‑on experience in publishing, marketing, advertising, and distribution
. You’ll work across national and international platforms such as Amazon, Over Drive, Barnes & Noble Press, Scribd, and more — gaining real‑world experience inside a growing digital publishing operation.
As a Publishing, Marketing & Distribution Intern, you’ll support the promotion, launch, and distribution of Zoo Media’s books, magazines, and educational publications. You’ll learn how to market creative works, optimize metadata, manage listings, and build outreach strategies for schools, libraries, bookstores, and digital platforms.

- How to promote books, magazines, and educational materials to libraries, schools, bookstores, and online retailers.
- How to build press lists, outreach strategies, and targeted marketing campaigns.
- How to support direct‑to‑consumer and institutional sales funnels.
- How to list, launch, and promote titles on platforms such as:
- Amazon KDP
- Over Drive
- Scribd
- Barnes & Noble Press
- Additional digital and print‑on‑demand platforms
- How to manage metadata, keywords, categories, and SEO for publishing.
- Social media strategy for publishing (organic + paid).
- Email marketing campaigns and newsletter promotion.
- Keyword optimization, metadata structuring, and search visibility techniques.
- Cross‑platform promotional strategy from print to digital.
- Assist with marketing copy, promotional materials, and digital advertising assets.
- Support outreach to educators, librarians, bookstores, and youth‑serving organizations.
- Collaborate with editorial, design, and media teams to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Digital marketing for publishing (SEO, email, metadata)
- Advertising strategy across social and publishing platforms

- CRM and sales pipeline management
- Cross‑department collaboration with editorial, design, and media teams

- Familiarity with tools like Amazon KDP, Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite
, or similar platforms (preferred but not required). - Comfortable using spreadsheets, Google Workspace, and basic analytics tools.

- Collaborative, proactive, and eager to learn quickly.
- Real‑world experience in the publishing industry.
- Exposure to Amazon and direct distribution models for books and magazines.
