The Director of Marketing & Communications at Who We Play For will be responsible for promoting the organization’s mission of preventing sudden cardiac death in the young through strategic marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives. This role will lead and manage the organization's digital campaigns, media relations, and brand messaging, as well as create marketing materials for events, webinars, and speaking engagements.

The Director must be an excellent communicator who will lead on consistent, impactful communication across all channels including social media, email and direct mail.

Location

Ideally Florida-based but would consider remote working if ideal candidate.

General

Job Description

The ideal Director will be an organized, dynamic, self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This is a monthly stipend position, and the role will report directly to the Director of Strategic Partnerships of WWPF.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with the leadership team to develop strategic marketing and communication plans aligned with WWPF's mission.
  • Carry out daily marketing, media, and communication activities to support WWPF’s programs, fundraising, advocacy, and policy work.
  • Build brand awareness and visibility to help grow revenue, strengthen WWPF’s public image, and promote heart health in youth.
  • Develop and implement regular internal communications to ensure weekly updates and consistent messaging across the team, including the Board of Directors and Branding and Communications Committee.
  • Oversee, maintain and regularly track activity on WWPF’s website and social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In).
  • Identify and build relationships with external partners and organizations that share WWPF’s mission.
  • Engage at community events and support local outreach.
  • Set clear goals and use metrics to track progress and guide strategy.
Qualifications for the Role
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and websites.
  • Ability to analyze data and performance metrics to inform strategy.
  • Ability to develop marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, presentations, videos, and branded content.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Must pass a background check
